What We’re Seeking

A collaborative leader to drive excellence in our facilities and maintenance operations.

Compensation: The target salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000 annually,consistent with our internal compensation framework. This position is classified as Grade 17, with a full pay range of $112,800.16to$180,457.25.  This role is eligible for an incentive bonus up to 15% of annual salary, prorated based on state date.  Final pay is determined by experience, skills, internal equity, and available budget

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

As a valued member of the plant leadership team, the Senior Maintenance Manager will collaborate closely with the Site Plant Manager and Sr Director of Operations to drive excellence in our facilities and maintenance operations, processes, programs, and budgeting for our two Minnesota manufacturing sites. With oversight of equipment maintenance and staff for a 3-shift manufacturing operation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring equipment reliability across all facilities and manufacturing equipment. This will be achieved through the effective implementation of Maintenance Systems, including a robust Preventative Maintenance Program, efficient parts storage room management, streamlined kitting processes, thorough Root Cause Analysis of Failures, and effective planning and scheduling routines. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced subject matter expert in Maintenance, workplace safety, and data driven management and leadership. Competency Areas are listed below:

Leadership

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with maintenance leaders, planner, storeroom personnel, engineers, operators, and mechanics.
  • Proactive in promoting open and timely communication with the Production team regarding potential equipment and compliance issues to minimize downtime utilizing Redzone asset data.
  • Provide appropriate support with the right level of urgency to ensure production goals are met.
  • Help create a World Class Maintenance organization and support implementation for the TPM pillar processes. 
  • Lead and provide technical support for troubleshooting and repairs when needed.
  • Provide on-call / on-site support for emergency situations.

Technical Expertise

  • Create a proactive work environment that involves mechanics in the planning, coordinating, and execution of work.
  • Institute a zero-breakdown methodology using Continuous Improvement tools and processes.
  • Develop an Equipment Reliability Program that incorporates Planned Maintenance.
  • Ensure that the Facility CMMS (Asset Essentials) is fully utilized to drive informed decisions.
  • Implement and use predictive maintenance technology to increase reliability and increase planned maintenance activity.
  • Manage the integrity and maintenance of all plant assets, including production equipment, facilities, and utility equipment utilizing internal root cause analysis process (CAPA).
  • Establish maintenance prevention specifications to ensure the plant and equipment is reliable and easily maintained.
  • Manage, develop, and sustain proper processes and procedures for preventative and repair service, equipment installations, tool and consumables ordering, issue to and return from employees, equipment inspections and repair service contractor activities.
  • Manage and maintain inventory supplies of spare parts and have a robust critical spare parts list identified as well as other supplies.
  • Provide technical support to R&D during new product development process.

Personnel Development

  • Assess skill levels for maintenance personnel and define training plans to close the gaps, as well as monitor training execution and effectiveness.
  • Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and provide development of personal goals.
  • Audit work performed by maintenance technicians on a regular cadence and provide feedback as appropriate.

Financial

  • Report, track, and provide input for maintenance budget according to guidelines on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage and track overtime according to production needs to stay within budgeted expenses.

Safety Compliance

  • Complete mandatory E. A. Sween Company Training sessions and attend external training sessions as needed.
  • Follow all regulatory processes to include proper Hazardous Waste Management as well as OSHA requirements, LOTO and all Safety Leadership requirements.
  • Ensure all Maintenance personnel are following World Class safety guidelines and recommendations.
  • Ensure all facilities are up to date with all required permits and licenses.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

·Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering related field strongly preferred.

·15+ years of proven production or manufacturing maintenance experience in lieu of degree.

·10+ years of proven leadership/management experience required.

·Knowledge of facilities operations with production environment to include air handlers, HVAC, electrical and plumbing.

·Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical Machine Troubleshooting, Repair and Preventive Maintenance.

·Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor a technical team.

·Strong communication and project management skills required.

·Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

·Exposure to Lean Concepts, TOC, layout design, cost/benefit analysis, labor productivity analysis (time studies, standardized work), safety/ergonomic/human factors.

·Intermediate to advanced PC skills that encompass Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

·Preferred: Proven experience in implementing TPM World Class Maintenance.
