What We’re Seeking
An individual that is an amazing problem-solver and can easily adapt and handle changes to the planned daily activities. The Lead is team-minded and plays a crucial role in assisting and teaching other mechanics how to trouble-shoot issues with production equipment.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
General
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to uphold food safety and product integrity.
- Consistently follow safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities, languages, or perspectives.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Maintenance Management
- Coordinate day to day administration of maintenance tasks, work orders, scheduling and parts using CMMS (Asset Essentials).
- Work with Maintenance Planner to understand prioritized list of work orders scheduled, update PM’s and make other improvements as needed.
- Work with Parts Coordinator to order and receive parts and make improvements as needed.
- Work with Supervisors and maintenance team to rotate people through the shop to effectively and efficiently complete work orders.
- Actively manage the Work Order Process.
Operations Management
- Monitor, interpret, and make decisions based on information delivered through Red Zone Operations Management system (Red Zone Champion).
- Check email at least once per day (early in the shift is preferred).
- Work closely with production and update on status of repairs, downtime, etc.
CMMS Champion
- Fully leverage the CMMS to complete work orders, check out all parts, create work orders, etc.
- Ensure maintenance team is fully leveraging the CMMS.
- Leverage CMMS application.
- Provide training as needed.
Leadership
- Provide training and coaching for maintenance team to improve overall technical skills to effectively maintain equipment at base condition.
- Be a resource for the Maintenance team to come to for training or to help identify a resource to help them improve a skill.
- Support the Pay for Skills process by providing honest feedback and assessment on individuals who are trying to progress to the next level.
- Long term may be asked to help create a training plan for each individual.
- Confers with other supervisors/managers to coordinate required maintenance activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Safety
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) for the various areas of the plant including bringing in equipment, tools, etc.
- Demonstrate safe work habits by following all safety and general plant rules.
- Successfully complete the mandatory EA Sween quarterly safety training.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
Required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
Preferred
- Food industry experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic skillset.
- Ability to train and work well with a diverse range of people at varying skill levels.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, food safety, FDA/USDA, and OSHA.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be willing to be in production areas of approximately 40 degrees occasionally
- Must be highly motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work well with various levels of employees and diverse cultures.
